Contract Value:    £9m

Client:    Torbay Council

Kensington Taylor were appointed by Torbay Council to undertake the concept and detailed design of the New Brix-ham Fish Market, Oxon Cove Industrial Units and the public realm works of the harbour side through to Freshwater Quarry.

Kensington Taylor held exhaustive public meetings, public presentations and user workshops throughout the early design stages to formulate a detailed design brief which carried the support of the local fishing community.

The design encompassed refurbishment of the existing market units, a new build fully automated market hall and quayside wharf enabling a new fish unloading area. Adjacent to this was a series of workshop units at Oxon cove with public realm works to the harbour side through to Freshwater Quarry.

Planning Approval was granted in 2005.
