Kensington Taylor gained planning permission for the erection of two new two bedroom self catering mobile holiday lodges at Lower Buttercombe Farm, West Down, North Devon.
We were appointed by the client to help improve their existing holiday let business by designing discreet lodges that were appropriate to the existing landscape and environment. The lodges are concieved as discreet, simple and welcoming, offering a high quality design that draws inspriation from its context.
The proposed site is adjacent to the existing established farm courtyard. As part of the proposed development, the existing mature vegetation surrounding the site will be retained.
Due to the sloping contours of the site, the orientation of the lodges has been carefully considered so that the proposals sit comfortably in the landscape; traversing rather than cutting too much into the contours of the land.
The lodges have been designed to adhere to the constraints set out in the Caravan Sites Act 1968.
