Charles Fowler, the architect of Covent Garden market, designed Exminster Hospital as a very advanced Mental Hospital. His radiating wards around a central administration and service block was a very radical departure from the more normal monolithic solutions in the country.

Kensington Taylor were asked to rescue the vandalised Grade II Listed Building and convert it into 120 houses and apartments. English Heritage and the District Council Conservation Officer have been intimately involved in the negotiations leading up to the Planning Approvals and Listed Building Approval.

Our brief included a complex landscape scheme as well as a History Interpretation Centre.
